Dubbo Floods 2010

Now, I am not normally a landscape photographer, but I felt inspired by the light reflecting off the water as I was going over the bridge at night. Yes - it is devastating to a LOT of people... but I couldn't help but try to capture the beauty of the terrble flood too. Here are just a few images.

More from Mr and Mrs Kim

Ok - so the editing is complete... the images have been delivered to the Bride and Groom... and now... you get to see just a little more of the wedding of Amy Hay to Sunghoon Kim. Enjoy!

Miss Mia

This is Mia Dog. Absolutely Crazy. Bonkers. Insane.

But you know what?

I am Absolutely Crazy. Bonkers. Insane. too!

So we get along just fine.

My Wednesday Friend

This is Ava, my Wednesday morning friend. I get her all to myself.

She is so cute!

But then, I think I may be biased. I AM her Aunty Penny after all!

Mr and Mrs Kim

Just a sneaky peek of one of the photos taken at the wedding of Amy to Hoon last Saturday. Was a lovely day with gorgeous light fluffy clouds that made you feel like you could reach out and pluck them from the sky.

They are such a lovely couple with such warm personalities, and I wish them all the success for the future.

Life is Good with a capital "G"

And it is.

Good that is. Life is wonderful. Life is precious. And Life is short.

Since the beginning of the year, I have been meaning to "get around to" various bits and bobs, but Life always seemed to get in the way. Then I was working. Then I was editing. Then I was working. Then I was editing. Then I was editing. Then I got sick. (Probably from too much work and editing...lol). So those little things that needed doing seemed very insignificant in the grand scheme of all that is. Well... lets just cut the bull and call it for what it was - a Rut. A big, fat, stinky, slimy, aint never getting outta this one, RUT!

What I needed was a Nudge.

My Nudge was a funny strange one with purple hair - or is it green? I can never keep up. My Nudge showed me that I am amazingly happy when I am creative, just as my Nudge is happy when she is creative. My Nudge, without words, reminded me that I should get off my behind and do something about my dream.

I am in awe of my Nudge.

My Nudge created my logo after a few quick emails - even though her speciality is animation. She didn't complain, or procrastinate, or doddle. She got on with the job with lightning speed and CREATED.

Not just created, but created with passion and excitement.

I wanted that. To create with passion and excitement. I have done it before. So I got rolling. One small step here. That was easy. Two, then three then four. I was REALLY on a roll now. Before I knew it, I had: registered a Domain (something I have been meaning to do, really), signed up for a website and had it "live" within 24 hours. That was an achievement! YAY!

But it didn't stop there. Oh no!

Facebook page - check.

Organise Business Cards - check.

Then it moved onto the rest of the house... washing, floors, ironing, even that back cupboard that had been falling open everytime the cat ran past - was sorted and repacked.

All because of my Nudge. We all need one now and then.

My Nudge is awesome. She created my logo. But more than that, she helped me get out of that bloody RUT!

Thankyou Pam Readford for being my Nudge.

Well, this is my first ever post. Let me introduce myself. I am Penny Davis, owner and principal shooter for Pink Bug Photography, located in Dubbo, NSW. I live at home with one crazy mental feral of a dog, one deliciously evil devil of a cat, and one amazingly patient husband. Some fun factoids about me? Hrm - I learned to ride a motorcycle BEFORE I even tried riding a pushbike. Chocolate is my bliss. Snakes (the slithering slimy variety) are my version of hell. I adore my nieces and nephews. And I love, love, love photography. Which is why I started Pink Bug Photography.

Photography has always been a passion of mine. Until only two years ago, I had not thought it possible that I could make it my profession. I mean, honestly, how amazing is it that I get to spend an hour or two or even a day having fun, goofing off,  making people laugh, and doing something I ABSOLUTELY LOVE - and actually get paid to do it? I have such a sweet job. The fact that I in turn get to make a difference in people's lives - to creatively influence, via the captured images, the way they feel about each other, and  themselves, is such an awesome feeling.

Hopefully one day I will have an opportunity to do the same for you. This blog's purpose is to take you with me on my adventures, gain an insight into what I do, and perhaps have fun looking through the moments in time that I have captured for others.
